Summer Send-Off

Summer is coming to a close and although I am super excited for Fashion Week and a change in wardrobe, I know it will only be a matter of a couple of months before I am wishing for summer back. With these last few weeks, I'm trying to wear the things that you can't just add black tights to and wear during Fall/Winter but the clothes that read true summer. I wore this bright floral romper the other night for a date and let's just say I liked my romper more hah (Oops). Is everyone getting in their last weekend of white pants? Or are you like me and continue to wear them as long as the weather allows it?

Details: Romper Tobi, Shoes Jeffrey Campbell, Sunnies Miu Miu - Similar, Bag Prada

Bendel Breakdown

Saturday I met up with my GBF (Gay Boyfriend) who works at the Henri Bendels Flagship store on 5th ave. we grabbed an amazing lunch and then searched the store for my favorite accessory picks. I have this theory that when women die and go to heaven, it's really the Bergdorff Shoe Department, but Bendels might be a close second since I'm accessory obsessed. If you get easily overwhelmed, this is not the place for you with the exception of maybe when the store first opens for the day. I think it's comparable to how I imagine Santa's workshop to be. I narrowed my favorite picks down to 7 items that if a budget didn't exist, I would've walked out the door with:

This amazing ostrich embossed leather clutch in electric yellow is Henri Bendel branded $250

My second pick is this gorgeous HB silk square scarf from their Megan Hess Collection $148. In the picture below I tied it around my pastel yellow bag for a cute added touch

Ring Party! My GBF and I fell in love with these Erickson Beamon fluorescent rings $148 - $268

I have a special attachment to this Dazzling Blue and Black Auden necklace because the designer Stephen is a complete sweetheart and loves to become friends with all of his clients. Each one of his pieces are handmade so he even will collaborate to make specific pieces for a customer. He also did a collection with J Crew that got a huge reaction.

This Assad Mounser cuff speaks for itself. It looks like I am ready to go into fashion battle - $428

I found these dangling HB earrings on the 50% table and almost walked out with them before I came across...

The Miu Miu Purple and Pink Sunnies totally sang "Take Me Home Steph" and after I saw that the case for them was pink velvet, I couldn't help myself. I've become a little bit of a sunglass addict but they are just so practical and can totally change your look. I was lucky that this was the ONLY item that I walked out of the store with after my Bendel Breakdown :)

Spring High-Lows

So yesterday was absolutely gorgeous in the city and for the first time I think Spring might actually be here to stay (for 2 weeks until summer begins). I looked ahead at the forecast and decided that I was going to wear a very West Coast outfit that I had worn a couple of weeks ago while I was in LA. The reaction was hysterical. I decided to ignore the fact that New Yorkers are permanently in black and jump head first into splashed colors. I wore this tie dye high/low skirt that my sister picked out for me last year at South Moon Under. I was a little hesitant towards high-low last year because they were everywhereeee but this was my first and I love it! I looked even more ridiculous given the fact that there was a little wind so when I walked down the street I had this floating tail following behind me. Sometimes you just have to be able to giggle at yourself...

Here are some High-Low Skirt options from Lulus.com that I love: Print & Solid with Lace Panel

I wore one of my summer staples - my cropped jean vest from Zara with studded collar. Get ready to see this vest a lot because I'm obsessed with it and during the hot summer use it as a fall back to wear my "warm weather" clothes a little more work appropriate. Here is a great Denim Vest option from ShopAkira

Since I wore a plain white sugar lips tank top underneath the vest, I decided to wear 2 of my newest necklaces layered together. The shorter necklace that says "DREAM" is a BCBGeneration affirmation necklace and the long necklace with heart and horn charm is Rebecca Minkoff. I bought the Dream necklace at Lord&Taylor but here is the bracelet version which is also adorable

As seen in other posts I also wore my Juicy white aviator sunnies and my staple summer wedges from Lulus.com

White Leather to Denim for Spring

This past weekend I visited my family in Northern VA/DC and had a jam packed- planned to the minute weekend. I always giggle to myself when I pack to go home because my style is so frightening to people in DC. I feel like when I'm there people look at me like I'm Lady Gaga. I normally pack and then go back and edit so I can be a little more focused in my choices and less *out there*. I kinda do enjoy the shock value (a little)- hence wearing a My Little Ponies T-shirt with Leather pants to the gun range this weekend with my Dad and sister- but that's a different story.

Here's an outfit that I wore this weekend when I was pal-ing around/ recovering from a late night of dancing to a live band with Currently Coveting

Yep- I'm wearing the Spring update to my denim to leather Post. I have a huge crush on these BCBGeneration WHITE leather to denim pants. The concept is unheard of and I realllllly don't care about that stupid-ass rule about white pants before Memorial Day. It's dumb. If the sun is shining and you're feeling it~ wear it.

My sunglasses believe it or not are Juicy Couture. I think every girl looks awesome in white aviators because they brighten up your face. They are from years ago but here is a page of affordable white aviator options. However my favorite ones will always be these Gucci ones

On top I'm wearing a BCBGeneration light chambray shirt (also referred to as jirt) with an Urban Outfitters Floral Graphic cut-off tank. The slits on the side go pretty low so I wore a white tank underneath as well.

For the accessories I might have gone slightly overboard - but I'm okay with it. The bag is a Rebecca Minkoff studded crossbody. I got this years ago and I wear it a lot more than I ever would've imagined for the fact that I'm a oversized-bag girl. No big shocker here I sported a BCBGeneration arm party with Affirmation Bracelets - I told you I wear these almost everyday. The ones for this outfit say FREE and BLESSED :) And then my ring is from Max and Chloe. Here's another fun bright pink option from that site

Loving Leather

I've always loved leather so I am so happy that it's a huge trend right now (and even going into spring!) This is a great work (in my office it is) to Happy Hour outfit. This outfit is a hodge-podge of brands from no-name pants to Chanel earrings. I love mixing and matching low and high price points for an elevated "look."
1
I got the blazer on sale from Zara a while ago and the best part is that the leather sleeves are attached making it one piece. Here are some aesthetically similar & affordable options: option 1 option 2

2

The leather-like pants are from a boutique down on south street seaport (now closed) for $29 but here is the Zara online option

The bag is a great everyday bag from Zara. Similar option here And the Pumps are Kelsi Dagger and I got them online at DSW. Similar option here

Lastly, the big designer steal of this look = the Tom Ford sunglasses. They are actually Mens and retail for $420 but I found them on Amazon for $239
