Sportswear with a Twist

I think the best and worst fashion moments happen when you try something a little unexpected and pair things that you wouldn't initially put together. Sometimes it comes out amazing and of course you run the risk of it being tragic - but either way it's show stopping and out of the ordinary. With sportswear being big, I love putting a girly spin on it. For this outfit I paired a Zara "Jersey" Sweatshirt (other option from ASOS) with a Zara mini skort (which I think every girl in America owns) with an amazing Juicy Couture Bling Statement Necklace, Bcbg Pocahontas Booties, and Tom Ford sunnies. Yay or nay?

School's Out

I know I sound like a broken record talking about Sportswear being big but it's true! You'll really start to see a bunch of it emerge in the next month during the delivery time dubbed "Back To School."
That time growing up where you started freaking out because you didn't do any of your summer reading or book reports but your mom could get you sortaaaa excited for school by bribing you with new Back To School Clothes? Or was this just me? Here's an outfit that makes me laugh because this looks like somewhere in between a modified Girls' School Uniform and a Soccer Team Jersey Dress. I got it on sale at ASOS and decided to continue on with the sportswear theme by wearing my wedge sneakers with it. The big steal here though, is my R+J crossbody pastel yellow bag- which fits my laptop (amazing carry on for travel) that I bagged for $29 at TJMaxx (full retail price here). I have never bought anything from there but I guess if you're in the treasure hunt mood, you really can score some great things! This is my version of the backpack for BTS which I am seeing everywhere! Holographics, metallics, leather, kaleidoscope prints - they are really stepping up the backpack from the original Jansport that I used to have. Here are some of my favorites that I've spotted online:

Snapbacks and Plaids Too

This grunge look might horrify some of you but I like to call this my Britney Tribute/Redneck/White Trash Bash Look. I mentioned this a few times but Sportswear is really big right now and continuing through Fall 2013. My company is selling baseball hats like crazy! This is one of our baseballs that I'm obsessed with because it's actually metallic straw which I have never seen before! It's a great quick fix to a bad hair day and I'm loving looking at the fashion blogs and seeing how different people are styling Baseball Hats in unexpected ways. The way below is a little more predictable but I'll get there eventually and take some risks with it. Here's the same hat at Free People in Pearl. The bronze is sold out.

Details: Bag Rebecca Minkoff. Shorts Urban Outfitters. Shoes Amazon. Shirt Kettle Black

Denim to Leather Sportswear

I'm obsessed with leather and leather details right now and although this might be overkill, here's a casual Friday outfit that I wore to work. Leather normally comes across very sexy but done this way, it's definitely more on the sporty side. BCBGeneration has these awesome jeans that are mixed denim to leather and here is the Spring Version. I felt really gratified when I saw these R13 Jeans on Shopbop for $795.

The leather jacket is lined with great sweatshirt so that the sleeves and are attached making the jacket looked layered. I found it at karmaloop a couple of years ago but here are some other variations from tobi: option option

The shoes that were featured in my Wedge Sneaker Post are from Amazon

The stud earrings are my pop of color and they are from South Moon Under. Here's an Evil Eye option from Baublebar. I found the necklace at a boutique in Long Island but here is another option from Baublebar
