Flower Child

A little late to the party with Coachella bringing out the Halo Craze but I've had a couple of them for a while now and finally mustered up the courage to finally sport one. I went to brunch with a girlfriend in Hells Kitchen and we stopped by this adorable flower mart so I could fully embrace my inner flower child. Then I decided to really become one with nature and climb around a tree - the looks I got were as if I was from Mars but it was nothing I couldn't laugh off.

I actually found the halo through Instagram - I've found so many great new shopping sites through Instagram and GlamGirlyGirl is one of them. The shirt is Sugar Lips, the cross-body is Rebecca Minkoff, and the flower printed denim shorts are from Lord & Taylor. Lord & Taylor has the absolute best denim prices and I recently fell in love with the brand Tinsel when I was there. The sunglasses were a giveaway from the BCBG press event and I love how they are tinted blue. Here they are in purple. After this outfit, I have decided that Coachella is on my bucket list for next year :)

ABC's

I love looking at fashion spreads, campaigns, and blogs and seeing the way someone wears something in a way I would have never thought to. When you look at a brand and see the attitude and lifestyle that they portray, it is only natural to mimic them and wear it in the same way. Something as simple as reversing a dress so the zipper in the front can totally change up a look and bring a little more interest.

The last time I went to LA, the Generation girls were sweet enough to gift me the pictured affirmation (letter) denim cropped jacket. I absolutely loved it and wanted to wear it to work but when I first saw it I figured it would only be able to work for a casual Friday outfit or a relaxed weekend outfit, instead of what I have to wear on a typical work day. But I decided to force it and wear it with a high waisted black pencil skirt and Brian Atwood metallic python heels (similar) - Both of which don't exactly scream Generation girl but it ended up looking cute and a great bonus that I could wear Generation during market appointments when I was showing their accessory lines to customers.

Post MDW Whites

It's no secret that this Memorial Day Weekend's Weather was a huge let down :( personally the rain and cold climate totally killed my jammed packed beach party plans. I previously posted that I don't follow the "white pants rule" but obviously after this weekend you'll be seeing them a lot more for those that have been following the rule. Here's a post MDW outfit

This amazing trench with studded shoulders is actually a fit sample that I got from two adorably cute gift fairies in the industry :) I've gotten a lot of use out of it in the last month with the unpredictable weather

I got this top at Lulu's but since it's no longer available, here is another pastel option that will look great with white pants from Tobi

photo-65

The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell and were a birthday gift to myself from myself :) I got them downtown at the Piperlime store. If you live in NYC and have never been to the store, you should definitely stop by. I love that it's set up like the website and they have a "Girl On A Budget" Section

I cuffed my pants to highlight the shoes because they have an ankle strap but these pants from Lulu's would be the perfect cut without having to be cuffed

The finishing touch to this outfit is my necklace which is Juicy Couture and I got it from Lord & Taylor on sale. I love shopping there because it seems like every time I walk in there they seem to be running some type of sale.

Naughty n Nice Pastels

For Holiday 2012 the main color palette which brought about newness was dusty pastels. Seafoam, pale pink, lavender, and the list goes on. Of course the "naughty" side of the palette still featured the traditional neutral and metal tones being black, ivory, silver, and gold. With the weather being less than Spring-like, these pastels have made a great lead into brightening up your wardrobe with still wearing weather appropriate clothing. This BCBG Max Azria Pastel Leopard dress is a perfect example of this:

I paired the wrap dress with opaque tights and then Pour La Victoire Booties from Zappos

I love these BCBG wrap dresses for work because they are a very similar cut to DVF wrap dresses but half of the price. Here is a similar one from the Spring Collection that I love: BCBG

Since the pattern on this dress is so bold, I kept the accessories fairly simple with these pale pink Chanel Stud earrings

Here is a close up of the print. The yellow studded bracelet is Rebecca Minkoff

Tulip Skirts and Sheer Shirts

You can never go wrong with the classic Black and Red combo. I found this adorable flared red tulip skirt at Zara a while back and I've since seen the same cut in other patterns there so it must've been popular. Here are a couple red mini skirt options from ASOS: option1 option2

You can't really see it from the first picture but I paired it with a sheer long bell sleeve top with black embroidery detail which is much more visible in the second picture. The top was also a Zara find. Since I wore this to work (ha) I wore a black tank top underneath the sheer shirt so that it wasn't too risque. Here is a similar top in white. And here is another black lace option

I added this cute C. Wonder Leopard Wrap Bracelet with gold stud bracelet - and once again my Jennifer Zeuner Evil Eye Bracelet. Heres the same size for the C Wonder bracelet in python & here is another C Wonder Leopard option

The rest of the outfit details are standard black opaque tights which can be purchased anywhere and then basic black leather wedges from Aldo. Here is a suede version from ASOS
